For summer
2008, the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes offers Outdoor Adventure
day-camps for children 2 months to 12 years old and week-long overnight
camps for children 11 - 15 years old. Camps run from June 23 - August
20. Each class is full of crafts, games, learning and outdoor
adventures. Remember, class size is limited so sign-up your young

BABES IN NATURE
Ages: 2 months to 2 years old (plus an adult)
Sensory Experience: Explore a variety of sensory experiences to introduce babies and their caregivers to the natural world.
Days & Time: 2nd Tuesday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.

BIG/LITTLE
Ages: 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years old (plus an adult)
Everything's Changing: New growth appears, eggs hatch, animals give birth and insects are in different stages of metamorphosis.

NATURE NURSERY
Ages: 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 years old

NN1: Mondays, 1 - 3 p.m.
NN2: Thursdays, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Fee: $95 members; $110 non-members
RACCOON RANGERS
Ages: 3 1/2 to 5 years old (plus an adult)
Working Habitats: We'll have fun exploring the Nature Center looking for all the wonderful changes in the forest, marsh and fields!

RR1: Wednesdays, 11 a.m. - Noon
RR2: Saturdays, 11 a.m. - Noon
Fee: $55 members; $70 non-members
CHIPMUNK PATROL
Ages: 4 1/2 to 5 years old
Bursting Blooms: Budding trees, flowering plants and all living things are beginning to look colorful. Come explore with us!

SQUIRREL SCOUTS
Ages: 5 to 6 years old (kindergarten)

NATURE'S LIFEGUARDS
Ages: 6 to 7 years old
"Classy "Animals: Learn about classifying living things while exploring the Center.

NATURE'S EXPLORERS
Ages: 8 to 10 years old
Migration: Did you know that amphibians migrate? Let's look for some of our moist-skinned friends and also search for some of our feathered friends that have returned.

NE: Tuesdays, April 8, April 22 & May 6, 3:30 - 5 p.m.
Fee: $20 members; $25 non-members
Refunds & Fees:
Cancellations made prior to 14 days before the start of a session will be refunded (less a $5 processing fee per session). Switches will be charged a $5 processing fee per session. The Nature Center reserves the right to cancel as session if enrollment is low, in which case a full refund will be given. That determination will be made two weeks prior to the session. The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes reserves the right to refuse or discontinue an individual's participation if his or her welfare or the welfare of others is in jeopardy.
