It takes a village
The aim of this project is along the lines of a barn raising. The more individuals and groups involved in the planning, design and construction, the better. Staff and Board members are reaching out to Hard Hatted Women, the Shaker Historical Society and a number of other groups and constituents. Who else makes sense? Here are a few groups identified in a recent brainstorming session:

On behalf of my fellow 4th garde teacher and all 26 4th graders at Gearity Elementary School of the CHUH Schools located in University Heights, I am volunteering our participation in this project! We would like to participate in any part of the process: design, simple kid friendly labor in the construction of the structure. and artistic embellishment of the structure. When can we start?

Joe, thanks for volunteering! We for sure will find some kid friendly labor when we're putting up the building which hopefully will be starting in July. In the meantime we are going to feature a "natural construction" craft at our
"Steward the Earth" Day Celebration on Saturday, April 21st at the Nature Center. We'll be showing kids how to build with straw and clay and other natural materials. Check our website for details. Also stay tuned for more arts and design discussions.
