VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

WELCOME DESK
Welcome Desk/ Visitor Services Assistants help ensure our guests' experience at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes is a positive one. Use your enthusiasm for the environment to greet and assist visitors, answer the phone, help with the gift shop, and prepare mailings.

OFFICE ASSISTANT
Help staff with data entry, mass mailings and taking inventory. Enter Nature Center programs onto community calendars posted on the internet. These tasks may be completed at home or at the Nature Center. Assist our Membership department by reviewing past records, compiling lists, preparing membership renewals and packets.

NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT/STEWARDSHIP ASSISTANT
Assist natural resource staff in land management duties, including management of exotic invasive plant species.  Help with trail maintenance and landscape maintenance on the Nature Center property.

ANIMAL CARE ASSISTANT
Feed and care for our resident turtle, frog and snake that we use in educational programming.

RECYCLING PROGRAM/MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT
Assist with the Nature Center's recycling and composting program. Help with maintenance of the Nature Center building.

WILDLIFE OBSERVATION AREA ASSISTANT
Fill bird feeders and help maintain the wildlife observation area.

SPECIAL EVENTS

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A ONE-SHOT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY?
